Tommy was a genuinely good person, always looking out for others before himself, always loyal to those he knew and willing to get to know anyone. We've been out of touch for years, but I regularly looked him up to see how he, his family and his music were getting along.

You were one of the best at being human and you made others want to be better and more like you just by being yourself.
I'll miss you, Bubba. I truly will. And I'll never forget you.

Tommy was an amazing teacher. Hate I never got a chance to head back that way to thank him for his teaching and recommendations. He will be missed by many former students and co-workers. Thanks Tommy.

I got to see my old friend one last time last week, and in typical Tommy form he was more concerned about his family than about himself...he said of his wife Billie "nothing but pure love coming from that woman" as she walked back toward the kitchen...and he talked about his children, his love for music and how at 16 he picked up a guitar and fell in love with it, and it showed when he played...and he told me and I quote him "Stanley, I'm living at the feet of Jesus" what a testimony? When I heard he'd passed away yesterday: I was reminded, and I reminded a mutual friend of the late D.L. Moody's quote, Moody said "someday you're going to read that D.L. Moody is dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment, I shall be more alive than I am right now" I believe D.L. Moody was right!!! I thank God that I got to call Tommy "friend". Billie, you and the family and multitude of friends are in our prayers!! May God Bless you all!

I am so very deeply saddened to hear of Tommy's passing. He was a great man. I had the privilege to have both he and Billie as teachers at RCC many moons ago. I remember watching NITRO when I was a teenager. I always knew he was a man with a HUGE heart but when he wrote that song titled "Susan's Song" in remembrance of my best friend Susan Rich, who passed away very suddenly and tragically, I knew his heart was even huger than what I had always known. You see he had met her through her boyfriend and one of his best friends Andy Ashworth. To write such an elegant song about someone he had not known very long was nothing less than true artistic ability. He will forever be remembered for the wonderful friend, teacher and musician he was. Love to all of his family
