Mrs. Geraldine Moore  O'Neal,  92, of Rockingham passed away Friday,  March  24,  2017 at Brighton Gardens in Greensboro.  She was born March 12,  1925 in Sumter, SC, daughter of the late Melvin and Daisy Boyce Moore.
 
Mrs. O’Neal was an active member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church, where she was Senior Citizens Director, taught Sunday School, and was Church Secretary for many years.  She was a graduate of Hamlet Nursing School, had a Bachelors in Nursing from Wingate College, and Masters degree to become a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama – Birmingham.  She taught nursing at Hamlet Nursing School, worked at Hamlet Hospital, then was Occupational Nurse at Klopman Mill, and was later employed with the Richmond County Health Department. 
Mrs. O’Neal is survived by her husband, Thomas O’Neal of the home;  children, Peggy Tagge  (Lavern) of Greensboro, Tommy O’Neal of Rockingham, and Richard O’Neal (Renee’) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Dana Newton, Erin Tagge, Richard O’Neal, Jr., Trent O’Neal, Geremy O’Neal, and Andrew O’Neal; great grandchildren, Chloe O’Neal, Mallory Newton, Wyatt Newton, Jacob O’Neal, and Noah O’Neal.  She was preceded in death by a son, Tim O’Neal.
 
Services were conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27th  at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Taylor and Rev. Dick Stanford officiating and interment following at Richmond Memorial Park.  The family had visitation to see friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
