Mrs. Elsie Davis Allen, 92, of Rockingham passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She was born May 10, 1924 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Alfred C. and Jennie Thomas Davis.

Mrs. Allen joined Pee Dee Baptist Church at the young age of twelve, and had recently been attending Beverly Hills Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Adult Bible Class.

Services were conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25th at Beverly Hills Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Mickey Briles with interment following at Richmond Memorial Park. The family had visitation to receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her children, Jennifer Hurlocker and husband Howard of Concord and Doris Smith and husband Al of Hilliard, FL; eight grandchildren, Jerry, Tony, Teresa , Deborah, Lynne, Roland, Ashley, and Zach; thirteen great grandchildren, Hali, Trey, Trevor, Sonya, Conner, Ali, Nicole, Nathan, Andrew, Catelyn, Brooke, Blaine, and Shelby Grace; two great great grandchildren, Clarissa and Eleanor; siblings, Carol Norton, Peggy Warren, Jimmy Davis, and Bucky Davis; and special nieces and nephew, Amy, Abigail, and Adam.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Allen, who she married on August 17, 1946; a son, Mack Allen; and siblings, Ferol Jarrell, Virginia Davis, Annie Bell Hanselman, Mopey Davis, Bill Davis., and Alfred Davis, Jr.
