Virginia B. Stambaugh was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on March 20, 1943 to Robert and Dora Bowman currently from Mooringsport, LA succumbed to her injuries from an auto accident on November 12, 2020 at the age of 77.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Crestview Baptist Church with seating in the sanctuary and fellowship hall with Pastor Robby Stewart officiating. Due COVID-19 please wear a face mask and continue social distancing.
Virginia was a home maker following retirement from the textiles industry. She is survived by her husband Keith Stambaugh of the home, daughter-Janie McDonald (Eddie) of Ellerbe, NC, three grandchildren, Shannon O’Neal (Jared) of Rockingham, NC, Joel McDonald (Lauren) of Bennett, NC, and Jacob McDonald (Meredith) of Ellerbe, NC. She is survived by seven great-grandchildren, Macey, David and Addison O’Neal of Rockingham, NC, Vivian McDonald of Bennett, NC, Mallory, Leamon, and Dorothy McDonald of Ellerbe, NC. She is survived by a stepson, Clayton Stambaugh, of Mooringsport, LA and a special nephew Jimmy Bowman and wife Shelia of Belcher, LA. She is also survived by brothers Byron, Ray, Dwight and Tommy Bowman and sisters Aileen Russell and Juanita King, along with a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved to gather with regularly. She also leaves behind her faithful dog Sassy.
Virginia was preceded in death by a daughter Jamie Virginia Tyson and a son James Richard Tyson Jr., parents, Robert and Dora Bowman, brothers Carl, Robert, Jackie and Richard Bowman and a sister Barbara Ann Lovin.
Virginia loved the beach, especially living in Surf City, NC. She loved to fish, cook, and care for those in need. She was a devoted wife and will be missed dearly by all who loved her.
