Sadie McPherson Timms (Miss Sadie) 90, of Rockingham passed away Monday, August 7th, at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10th at Roberdell United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Carpenter, Rev. Grover Timms, Jr., and Rev. Jamie Ballentine officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.
Born February 6, 1927 in Rockingham she was a daughter of the late Walter and Virginia Terry McPherson and wife of the late Preston Timms. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Patti Timms, son-in-law, Larry Richardson, brothers, Ellis (Mildred) McPherson, Woodrow (Emma Gray) McPherson, Maurice (Grace) McPherson and sister, Bernice (Lewis) Ingold.
Miss Sadie was a homemaker, a member of Roberdell United Methodist Church and 60 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Richardson of Rockingham, her son Charles Timms (Feli Noeller) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jenny (Murrill) Boney, Carla Timms James (Hunter Thomas), Heather (Jason) Covington, all of Rockingham and Brian (Elizabeth) Reynolds of Rocky Mount; great-grandchildren Preston Boney, Logan Boney, Annabel Covington, Ethan Covington, Finlee Reynolds and Wilson Reynolds; special nieces Lydia (Butch) Williams of Wadesboro and Hellen G. Rexrode of Winnsboro, SC.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9th at Watson King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
