Mr.  Ronald Wesley Dean Singletary,  78,   passed away Monday, April 17,  2017.  He was born January 8,  1939, son of the late C. V.  and Effie Jane Shaw Singletary.

 

Mr. Singletary started his career in textiles with J. P. Stevens, worked for a number of years in Quality Control at Clark Equipment Company, and retired with Arvin Meritor.  He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  He was proud of his family, and loved his grandchildren.

 

A service to celebrate Ronald’s life was conducted 3:00 pm Friday, April  21st in the chapel of Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

 

Mr. Singletary is survived by his wife, Yvonne Williams Singletary of the home; children, Lynne Hughes (Rodger) of Kannapolis, and Jeff Singletary (Leslie) of Oak Island; four grandchildren, Traci Brock (Seth) of Kannapolis, Ashley Tyson (David) of Midland, Jessi Ducasse (Kyle) of Rockingham, Daniel Singletary (Kayla) of  Crystal Springs, FL; five great grandchildren, Corben and Bella Tyson of Midland, Sam and Julia Brock of Kannapolis, and  Laila Ducasse of Rockingham;  a brother, Keith Singletary (Lita) of  Hamlet; and many nieces and nephews.  Mr. Singletary was preceded in death by a son, Keith “Dean”  Singletary;  and siblings, Rev. Willard Singletary, Inez Kaplan, Betty Gray Quick, Curtis Singletary, Jack Singletary, Richard Singletary, and Charles Singletary.
