Rodney Ward

Rodney Milton Ward, formerly of Arcadia, FL passed away March 14, 2018. He was the son of the late Earl Harris Ward and the late Shellar Mae Ward of Norman, NC.

He was a handy-man by trade and an avid outdoorsman.  He loved fishing, camping, the beach, and attending race events as well as watching them on TV. Rodney was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army.

A service to celebrate Rodney’s life will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, July 23rd in the Memorial Cemetery at the VFW Post #4203, located at 106 River Rd., Rockingham, NC with Pastor Joey Byrd officiating.

Rodney is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Long and her husband, Jonathan Long of Rocky Mount; a brother, Junior Ray Ward and girlfriend Betsy Kessler of Jackson Springs; sisters, Brenda Carol Christie of Rockingham and Mary Frances Ward and fiancé Scott Ricketts of Rockingham.

The family will receive friends at the home of Junior Ward and Betsy Kessler of Jackson Springs, NC, 482 Morganton Rd, at 5 pm, Tuesday, July 23rd. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the VFW Post # 4203, 106 Old River Rd., Rockingham, NC 28379 or Temple Baptist Church, 165 Airport Rd., Rockingham, NC  28379.
