Robert Payne "BoB" Wright

Robert Payne “Bob” Wright,96, of Hamlet passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born April 27, 1925 in Richmond County, a son of the late Montgomery Bostick and Lottie Lowder Wright.

Mr. Wright served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamlet. He retired as the Assistant Postmaster at the Hamlet Post Office and was a member of the Hamlet Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Cindy Lee Kennedy.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the First Baptist Church in Hamlet with Dr. Allison Farrah officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park with military honors.

Surviving, His loving wife of 75 years, Doris Smith Wright of Hamlet; A daughter, Robbie Adcock of Hamlet; Grandchildren, Kevin Adcock and wife Fran, Traci Adcock Burton and husband Larry, Jordan Kennedy and Amber Kennedy; Great grandchildren, Colton Walker, Kaylie Walker, Cody Walker, Caleb Adcock and Piper Adcock. Great great grandchildren, Marlee Kennedy, Hunter Kennedy Doby.

The family will receive friends 11-12 noon prior to the service at the church.
