Robert Boyd Sanford

Robert Boyd Sanford,56, of Rockingham passed away February 6, 2022 at his home. He was born November 13, 1965 in Richmond County a son of the late Robert Downie Sanford and Wanda Hart Hassler.

Mr. Sanford worked at Burlington Industries and CSX Railroad. He was the greatest man I have ever known. Robert was my best friend and companion for 22 years and loving father to his wonderful daughter Leah Gayle Sanford.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with Pastor Ronnie Wayne Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.

Surviving, His wife, Maybell Cook Sanford; His Beloved daughter, Leah Sanford; Mother, Wanda Hassler and husband Freddie; Step mother, Ana Luz Sanford; Sisters, Vanessa Sanford and Katherine Marie Sanford- Smith; A brother, James Sower; Brother-in-laws, Johnny James Cook, Jamie Glen Cook and James Barry Cook; Great aunt Virgie Capps, Sister-in-laws Janice Mayes and Elaine Locklear Bright. Two uncles and special cousin Sarah Hart.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
