Richard Glenn "Rick" Byrd

Richard Glenn “Rick” Byrd, 37, of Rockingham passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at his home. He was born August 11, 1982 in Richmond County, a son of Richard and Linda W. Byrd.
Rick graduated from Richmond Senior High class of 2001 and attended Sandhills Community College and Richmond Community College. Throughout his life, Rick enjoyed playing baseball and basketball where he was a stand-out baseball player. In his young adult days, he enjoyed spending time on the golf course and time with friends and family. He also enjoyed his electrical work for a number of years with Quick and Sinclair Electric of Rockingham and landscaping experience with A+Landscaping of West End, NC.
Surviving are his daughters, Shyann and Calli Byrd of Rockingham; his parents, Richard and Linda W. Byrd of Rockingham; sister, Kimberly Byrd of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Glenn and Joyce White, of Rockingham and his paternal grandmother, Emma Byrd of Turkey, NC. He is survived by a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Desired memorials may be made to to the Samaritan Colony Men’s Program or the Women’s New Building Fund, Rockingham, NC.
