Peggy Smith Sills

Peggy Smith Sills,82, of Rockingham passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven. She was born October 30, 1939 in Richmond County a daughter of the late William Harold and Arbutus West Smith.
She retired from the Textile Industry. Peggy and her daughter Angie also helped raise other children throughout her life time. Brandon and Mookie Beasley, Peyton Butler Patrick, Justin and Brandon Ingram, B.J. West and Kimberly West Smith. She loved them just like her own, then came along Brandon and Ashton Miller and their child Carson who was the apple of her eye. Then came Kyler who was her “Chunk” and then Alex her sweet baby and Megan who she loved as well. She now has three grandchildren Brayden, Keaton and baby girl who was a tiny little Princess Araelei. She loved them all very much, B.J. West and Kimberly West both had two children each. Peggy also leaves behind a niece, several nephews and a host of good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn William Sills, Jr., a son Glenn William Sills, III, a sister Bobbie Smith and a brother William Harold “Bill” Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Hamlet with Rev. Chris Thornton and George West officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside cemetery.
Surviving her daughter, Angie Sills and Lonnie of Rockingham; Grandsons, Buddy Sills and James Sills Quick of Rockingham; A brother, Bucky Smith and wife Ginger; A sister, Shirley Smith of Rockingham.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet and at other times at her home.
