Nancy Garris White

Nancy Garris White, 81, of Rockingham passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC. She was born May 10, 1940 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Milton Robert and Ruth Crouch Garris.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Austin White, in 2015.
Nancy was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Roberdell United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a competitive Bridge partner and loved an evening playing Setback with her family. She enjoyed her years of service and socials with Rockingham Women's Club. Above all, she cherished her family and was full of adventure. Her husband adored her and they traveled to every corner of the continent and beyond. Among their favorites, where their motorhome excursions to Key West, New York, Amish Country, Alaska, and any trip with their grandchildren. She loved spending time with her daughters, her grandchildren, and her sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Roberdell United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Haber officiating with Pastor Ira Smith. Entombment will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.
Surviving, Her daughters, Lisa Johnson (Jamie) of Benson, NC, Donna Twiford (James) of Chesapeake, VA and Cathy Lantz (Aaron) of Ellerbe, NC; Brothers, Bob Garris of Fort Worth, TX, Jerry Garris of Rockingham and Ab Garris of Pinehurst; Grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Jay Twiford, Emily Kendrick, Ashley Lantz, Brandi Phillips, Heather Lantz and Brooke Pettitt; Great Grandson, Austin James Twiford. 
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
