Millard Norman Pratt

Millard N. Pratt (Bud) passed away on January 8th, 2021 in Hamlet, North Carolina. Bud was born on March 9th, 1947 to the late Gaynelle Wyand Pratt and Millard N. Pratt of Rockingham. He graduated from Rohanen High School in 1965 and attended Richmond Technical Institute where he studied business and computers.

Most all of Millard’s friends and family called him Buddy (Bud). Above all, Bud was a kind and soft-spoken man who respected and appreciated all types of people. He was a talented floral designer, masterful gardener and owner of Shamrock Gardens Florist in Charlotte NC for over 25 years. Prior to starting his own business he worked in data management for Thurston Trucking Company. He was also a faithful member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Hamlet, NC.

Preceding Millard in death were his beloved mother Gaynelle Wyand Pratt and his father Millard N. Pratt. He was also preceded in death by his brother Robert Pratt and by two sisters, Mary Ann Pratt Jordan and Betty Pratt Grant Smith.
Millard is survived by his daughter, Gaynelle Benoist (Michael) and his grandson Carter. He is also survived by two siblings, Donald Pratt (Carol) of Rockingham and Jean Brewer of Indian Trail, NC.

Visitation will be Saturday January 23, 2021 from 11am-2pm at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham. Graveside service will follow at 3:00pm at East Side cemetery in Rockingham NC. Please wear mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
