Eloise Swails Stewart, 90, of Hamlet, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 19, 1926 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Reverend Harris Lee and Marie Anderson Swails.

Mrs. Eloise Stewart dedicated her life to the service of the church alongside her husband during their many years of ministry. She was a member of East Rockingham First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Reverend Robert “Bob” Stewart in 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet with Reverend Harris Jordan and Reverend Thomas Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.

She is survived by her sister, Lucille Swails Henderson of Hamlet. Although she had no children of her own, she was a second mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to Lucille’s family: Luann (Duff) Morse, Marsha (Bobby) Williams, Robby Williams, Johnny Williams, Thomas (Meagan) Greene, Ethan Greene, Ian and Noah Williams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A special thank you is given to her loving caregivers: Angela Brower, Tiny Collins, Mardene Jackson, Stephanie Powell, and Regina Shankle. A thank you also goes to Community Home Care and Hospice.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:45-1:45 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at 2001 McDonald Avenue Hamlet, NC 28345.
