M. H. "Spec" Martin

Mr. M. H. “Spec” Martin, 89, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Pruitt Health in Rockingham. He was born January 22, 1930 in Anson County, a son of the late A. B. and Bettie Hildreth Martin.

Mr. Martin was retired from CSX Railway, where he was a Carman. He was part owner in Martin’s Textile Sheet Metal Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Aberdeen. Mr. Martin was a member of the Hamlet Masonic Lodge and a member of the Scottish Rite. He loved fishing and having fish frys. He liked to hunt and work in the garden. Mr. Martin and his wife enjoyed traveling across the country. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army.

Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12th in the chapel of Watson – King Funeral Home in Hamlet with Pastor Robert Mason officiating and interment following at Richmond Memorial Park with military honors. The family will have visitation to see friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Sandra Brown Martin; a daughter, Tracy Brickie of Little River, SC; sisters, Phoebe Ruffner of Hampstead and Margaret Williams of Hamlet; a brother, Richard Martin of Topsail Beach.
