Lucille Grant Boone,82, of Rockingham passed away October 4, 2017 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven. She was born April 17, 1935 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Chavis Grant.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Joseph Boone, Sr.

Mrs. Boone was a member of the Highland Acres Church of God. As a pastor’s wife, she was expected to be Ladies Auxiliary President, teach the children’s Sunday School Class, conduct Children’s Church, sing in the choir, to name a few, but did all with grace, dignity, and love for husband and church. “Her children rise and call her blessed.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at Highland Acres Church of God with Pastor Marcus A. Shuler officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Boone (Heather) of Hamlet, NC; Bryan Boone (Stephanie) of San Pedro, CA: and two daughters, Judy Bumgarner (Jeff) of Granite Falls, NC and Pam Easterling, (Walt) of Rockingham, NC. Lucille has been blessed with nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 PM prior the service at the church.
