Lillie P. "Sis" Arey

On May 17, 2021, Lillie P. “Sis” Arey, age 90, gained her wings and went to her heavenly home. She passed peacefully in her sleep at Richmond County Hospice Haven. She was born August 17, 1930 in Yadkin County, NC, daughter of the late Charles and Nannie Mae Penley. She was a member of Cartledge Creek Baptist Church and retired from Sara Lee Sandhurst Plant in 1990.

Lillie was a loving Mama, Mamaw and Great Mamaw, and cherished every moment with her family. She was loved by all. Those who visited her would be welcomed with good food and a Hallmark movie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Mitchel (Jack) Arey.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Richmond County Memorial Park with Rev. Jason Lutz officiating.

She is survived by her 4 children, Nancy Raines (Darrell), Steve Arey, Trisha McIntosh (Jeff), and Cathy Shaw (Tommy); 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US Hwy#1 N, Rockingham, NC 28379.
