Leroy Barrington

Mr. Leroy Barrington, Jr., 78,  of Rockingham passed away Friday, October 26,  2018 at his home.  He was born December 22,  1939 in Marlboro County, SC , a son of the late Leroy and Olivia Polston Barrington.

Mr. Barrington was an equipment operator and loved to fish.  He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army and the National Guard.

A service to celebrate Mr. Barrington's life was conducted 2:00 pm Thursday,  November 1,  2018 at First Free Will Baptist Church, 1747 Hwy 74 East, Hamlet,  NC with Rev. Tommy Hill officiating. 

Mr. Barrington is survived by three children, Teresa Mauldin and friend Robert Mintz, Samuel Lee Barrington, and Crystal Barrington; ten grandchildren, Chris Sweatt, Joe Sweatt, Nikki Sweatt, Gabrielle Barrington, Summer Barrington, Kayla Barrington, Cameron Barrington, Chelsea Barrington, Lee Barrington, and Brittany Wood; one great grandchild, Jayce Carter; and siblings, Edward (Wanda) Barrington, Beatrice (Willard) Locklear, and Ervin Chavis.  Mr. Barrington was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Mae Barrington, children, Jean Barrington and Tina Barrington; and a sister, Louise Gillian.
