Mr. Larry Paxton, 65, of Hamlet passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at his home. He was born October 31, 1952, son of the late William and Mary Ard Paxton.
Mr. Paxton was a member of Sandhills Wesleyan Church, where he was the Superintendent for twenty years. He was a farmer, and could do everything, from carpentry work, mechanical work, and electrical work. He was a poultry producer with Perdue for thirty four years, and previously had twenty one years with Burlington Industries. Mr. Paxton enjoyed drag racing, horses, and motorcycles.
Services were conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, April 22nd at Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Childers officiating. The family had visitation Saturday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Watson – King Funeral Home in Hamlet and other times at the home.
Mr. Paxton is survived by his wife, Geneva Butler Paxton; sons, James (Bobbi) Paxton of Lilesville and Eugene (Miranda) Paxton of Hamlet; grandchildren, Aaron Paxton and Ellie Paxton; one great grandson, Huntley Paxton; a brother, Danny Paxton of Rockingham; and sister, Ann (Richard) Brigman of Rockingham. Mr. Paxton was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Humphries.
