Kenneth Reed Bates

Kenneth Reed Bates, 86, of Fayetteville passed away Wednesday October 17, 2018 at his home.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at Marks Creek Presbyterian Church.
Born September 30, 1932 in Idaho Falls, ID he was a son of the late Alfred Reed and Marjorie Callahan Bates and husband of the late Hattie McDonald Bates.
Kenneth was a retired Sargeant First Class with the US Army Special Forces.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Bostick (Billy) of Rockingham and Debbie Ross of Fayetteville, seven grandchildren, Ty, Breanna, and Will Bostick, Jaynelle, Garrett, Wesley, and Kaylyn Ross, and one great grandchild, Wyatt Parks.
Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet is assisting the Bates family.
