Junious Harrison Smith

Mr. Junious Harrison Smith, 85, of Rockingham passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at First Health Moore regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born June 24, 1933 in Richmond County, son of the late June and Martha Bowen Smith.

Mr. Smith retired from Clark Equipment Company, where he was a mechanic. Following his retirement, he worked in maintenance at Britthaven and the Hermitage. Mr. Smith loved working on cars and trucks, and built his own helicopter. He attended Sweet Haven Church, and he enjoyed playing the piano.  Mr. Smith was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army, during the Korean War.

Services were conducted 3:00 pm Thursday, March 14th in the chapel of Watson - King Funeral Home in Hamlet.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Joann Brown Smith; his children, Junious L. Smith and Iris Smith, both of Wallace, SC; step children, Jimmy Brown, Billy Joe (Tammy) Brown, and Joanie (J.B.) Brayboy; grandchildren, Kevin Robinson, Anthony Robinson, and Dallas Smith; step grandchildren, Joshua Brayboy and Jeremy Brayboy; great great grandchildren, Brett Robinson and Alyssa Robinson; sister, Dorothy (Sammy) Weatherford; and a brother, Dennis (Barbara) Smith. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Williams.
