Jonathan Alberto Hernandez-Janica, 23, passed away on Sunday, October 7th, 2018.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October11th at the First Baptist Church in Ellerbe. The family will have a visitation from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service. He is survived by his mother, Diana Janica and his father, Pablo Hernandez both of Rockingham, maternal grandmother, Cruz Salcedo, and paternal grandmother, Himerade Hernandez, also many Aunts, Uncles , and Cousins.
The Lord blessed us with the most precious child on Earth: Jonathan (his name means God's Gift). Jonathan was the most loving, Godly, and caring person that we have ever met. He was always helping and praying for everybody around him all the time. Jonathan always said he was not afraid of dying because he knew he was going to Heaven since he had received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. However, he wanted to know God's will for his life here on Earth first. He was a warrior like no other because he always tried to keep in mind that "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). Even though our lives will not be the same anymore, we do know our lives will be better because he allowed the Lord to use him to teach us the real meaning of love and joy.
