John Wesley Thomas III

John Wesley Thomas, III 84, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday November 11, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church of Rockingham.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery with full military honors.
Born June 4, 1935 in Richmond County he was a son of the late John W. Thomas, Jr. and Una Lee Sawyer Thomas, husband of the late Eva Ruschka Thomas and was preceded in death by a son, John W. Thomas, IV and a sister, Patsy Deese.
Mr. Thomas was a retired U S Air Force Veteran, a Maintenance Supervisor for Clark Equipment Company and Richmond County Community College, and he was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockingham.
He is survived by one daughter, Christina Thomas-Virnig (Rob) of Madison, WI, one son, Carl Thomas (Rebeca) of Huntersville, two sisters, Carol Pratt and Betty Wallace both of Rockingham, and three grandchildren.
