James Milton Gibson

James Milton Gibson, 73, of Hamlet passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd at Second Baptist Church in Hamlet with Rev. Chris Hawks officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
Born November 20, 1944 in Hamlet he was a son of the late William Madison and Irene Sumner Gibson and was preceded in death by two brothers, William Madison Gibson, Jr. and Leonard Harrison Gibson, two sisters, Margaret Gibson Gionfriddo and Marcella Gibson Phillips.
Milton retired from CSX Railroad after 42 years of service and was a member and Deacon of Second Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ann P. Gibson of Hamlet, two daughters, Cathey Gibson Collins (John Porter) of Laurel Hill, and Rene H. Warren (Shawn Warren) of Zebulon, one son, Bennett Harrell (Mary Faye Lindsay) of Wilmington, three sisters, Sylvia Gibson Beder, Irene Gibson Webb, and Lynn Gibson Milligan, six grandchildren, Josh, Katie, and Caleb Collins and Eli, Grayson, and Alex Warren, along with many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at the church.
