Horace Alexander (Sonny) Phifer, Jr.
67 of Hamlet, North Carolina passed away Monday 21, 2022. A graveside funeral service will be held at Richmond County Memorial Park at 11:00 am on Friday, February 25, 2022 with Rev. Roger Webster officiating. Family and friends are invited.

Horace was born October 29, 1954, in Hamlet, North Carolina. Attended Hamlet schools, Maxton Military Academy and Graduated from Richmond Senior High. He retired from City of Rockingham after 29 years and work in security until full retirement.

He is survived by a son Bryan A. Phifer of Maxton, North Carolina, a sister Patsy Phifer Holland of Virginia Beach, Virginia and a sister Jeannette Phifer Clark (husband Wayne) of Florence, South Carolina, nephew Richard Green of Ft. Mill, South Carolina, nephew Wayne A. Clark, Jr of Florence, South Carolina, and a niece Sharon Green Hutchinson of Florence, South Carolina. Great Nephew Davis Green, Mason Green and Caleb Hutchison. He was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Evelyn Phifer. A sister Janice Phifer Green and a niece Rachel Clark. The family gives a special thanks to Richmond Pines staff and First Health Hospital, friends at Rockingham and Hamlet police department. Friends at Corner Café for their concerns during his illness.
