Harold Lynwood Napier, 75, a lifetime resident of Rockingham passed away surrounded by friends and family on Tuesday June 26, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28th in the chapel at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery.
Born March 3, 1943 in Richmond County he was a son of the late William (Bill) Henry and Gertrude Benoist Napier and was preceded in death by two brothers, James Marvin Napier, William H. (Bill) Napier, Jr., a sister, Edith Mae Napier.
He was a retired hardworking and dedicated Captain of the Rockingham Police Department, Richmond County Sherriff’s Department, was employed by CSX Railroad, was a local volunteer, was a longtime member of Pee Dee Baptist Church, and enjoyed the beach and fishing.
Harold is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Davis, his daughter, Shannon Harwood (Steve), and two grandchildren, Spencer and Skylar of Rockingham, two sisters, Margaret Brown (Eddie) of Rockingham, Dot Coble of Laurinburg and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
