Mrs. Georgia Allred Carroll, 91, of Rockingham passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at her home. She was born July 3, 1926 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Ira and Myrtle Burns Allred.

Mrs. Carroll was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, and was ‘mother of the church’. She was self-employed. She loved and took care of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 30th in the chapel of Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Steve Eddins and Odell Shepard officiating and interment following in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Mrs. Carroll is survived by her daughter, Glenda (Hal) Stutts of Rockingham; daughter in law, Kay Carroll of Rockingham; grandchildren, Jason (Hilda) Carroll, Marsha (Marty) Davis, Gwen (Albert) Purvis, David (Courtney) Stutts, and Teresa Bullard; great grandchildren, Adrian (Savanna) Purvis, Kayla Carroll, Jon (Shelby) Purvis, Chaselyn Bullard, Jordan Carroll, Hallie Purvis, Payton Stutts, Natalie Davis, Camryn Stutts, Brenon Bullard, Claire Davis, Morgan Stutts, and Brittaney (Mike) Wagner; and great great grandchildren, Kaden Bullard, Jaxson Purvis, Maci Wagner, and Baby Girl Purvis. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Jarvis Carroll; a son, Jerry Carroll; six brothers, and one sister.
