Frances Dawkins

Mrs. Frances Dawkins, 70, of Hamlet passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at her home. She was born July 3, 1948 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Vander and Bertha Mabe Marsh.

Mrs. Dawkins was a homemaker and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She played softball, in her younger days, with Second Baptist Church.

The family gathered to see friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Watson – King Funeral Home in Hamlet. Services for Mrs. Dawkins were conducted privately by the family.

Mrs. Dawkins is survived by her husband of fifty two years, Prentice Dawkins; children, John Wyatt Dawkins and wife Kendra of Chesterfield, SC, Marion Dawkins of Rockingham, Rachel Dawkins of Hamlet, and Shirley Faye Marsh Smith of Chesterfield, SC; grandchildren, Christopher Phillip Dawkins, Tabitha Nicole Dawkins, Walter Brian Harrell, Jr., Kylee Dawkins, Wyatt Cole Pressley, Garrett Colton Pressley, and Katlyn Suzannah Pressley; great grandchildren, Baylee Nicole Dawkins, Allie Nicole Dawkins, and Jase Andrew Baucom; siblings, Elizabeth Marsh of Mobile , AL, Christine Lewis of Reidsville, and Norman Wayne Marsh of Chesterfield, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dawkins was preceded in death by a grandson, Prentice John Dawkins.
