Mrs. Evelyn Weatherford Outlaw, 83, of Rockingham passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home. She was born April 10, 1935 in Darlington County, SC, a daughter of the late John and Annie Pegg Weatherford.
Mrs. Outlaw was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, where she loved to sing. She sang in churches all around the community and at the Hermitage. Mrs. Outlaw volunteered her time in the community to help others, especially with the senior citizens. Mrs. Outlaw was a triplet and the only one of the three that survived.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Outlaw's life was conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 26th in the chapel of Watson - King Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Tommy Weatherford and Rev. Allen Hudson officiating and interment followed at Mt. Calvary Rock of Ages Church. The family receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Outlaw is survived by a son, Jack Outlaw, Jr. and wife Tina of Rockingham; a daughter, Rachel Williams of Rockingham; grandchildren, Jodi Harding, Cassie Gibson, and Jennifer Outlaw; great grandchildren, Noah Harding, Axel Outlaw, and Levi Harding; a sister, Ruth Hatcher; brothers, Tommy Weatherford and Johnny Weatherford; and special nieces and nephews, Lindsey Steadman, Terry Parnell, Mary Spivey, Bruce Steadman, Daniel Hatcher, Ricky Hatcher, Ken Hatcher, Randy Coleman, and Susan Weatherford.
Mrs. Outlaw was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Outlaw, Sr. in 1999; a daughter, Jane Outlaw in 1998; and siblings, Ella Mae Weatherford, Helen Weatherford, James Weatherford, Frank Weatherford, Slim Weatherford, Mary Jane Ford, Myrtle Coleman, and Lonnie Weatherford.
The family wants to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Richmond County Hospice for their loving care during Mrs. Outlaw’s illness.
