Mrs. Ethel Teal Lowery,  102, formerly of Rockingham,  passed away peacefully Tuesday,  November 28, 2017.  She was the daughter of Susie and W.B. Teal and enjoyed lifelong cooking and her crafts.  She was retired from the textile industry in Rockingham, NC and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rockingham.

Ethel was preceded in death by husbands, L. P. Lowery and Furman Willoughby; a brother and three sisters, along with a son and daughter, Louis Ray Lowery and Ruby Mae Hord and grandson, Franklin Hord, II.

Survivors include one sister, Zietta Hatcher; daughter, Edith Buckwell; daughter in law, Mereldyn Lowery, and son in law, Franklin Hord, along with nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and twenty six great great grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be family members.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham with service at 12:00 pm and burial at Richmond Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
