Dorothy Lucille Hendricks,90, of Rockingham passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital-Richmond Campus. She was born April 14, 1930 in Kansas City, MO a daughter of the late Edward and Lucille Johnston Estes.

Mrs. Hendricks was a retired nurse who served her community for 40 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rockingham where she enjoyed the Merry Makers and various Bible Study Groups. Dorothy dedicated her life to her family. While living in California, she made every effort to attend important family events. As a military service wife, she shouldered the responsibilities of raising children, working and running the household. She had a zest for life, was an avid sports fan, a member Red Hat Society, going to culture events and traveling. If you knew her, you were her friend.

She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip G. Hendricks and her children Phillip Keith Hendricks and Phyllis Lynn Hendricks, and her granddaughter Candace Collins.

A private memorial service will be held at the home at a future date.

Surviving her children, Patrick J. Hendricks and wife Stephanie of AZ and Cheryl McCaskill and husband Lonnie III of Rockingham; Grandchildren, Patrick Collins and wife Crystal, Ryan Collins and wife Sarah and Lonnie McCaskill, IV and wife Amy; Great grandchildren, Jada Collins, Sevin Gunter, Skyler, Knox and Jett Collins, Alexis and Keegan Collins, Haylee and Finlee McCaskill and great great grandchildren, Caydance and Cierra Rees.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, St. Jude Children Hospital or Ronald House in her honor.
