Dorothy Cooper Coppley

Dorothy Jean Coppley,98, of Rockingham passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022, at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven. She was born November 7, 1923, in Rowan County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Clarence and Zana Cooper.

Mrs. Coppley was a member of Roberdel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She worked several years at Family Dollar as a Salesperson.

She was preceded in death by her husband John William Coppley, brothers Winfield, Tommy, and Johnny Cooper.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Rockingham with Rev. Billy Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.

Surviving, A daughter, Patricia Turner; Grandchildren, Terri, Mack and Tony McCroskey; Five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. A brother, Grant Cooper; A sister, Lucy Russell; And many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
