Doris Kelly Norris

Doris Kelly Norris, 73, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Doris was born on September 29, 1948 in Richmond County. She is the daughter of the late John Oscar “Cork” and Pauline Tucker Kelly, and the mother of the late Kimberly Anne Sheppard.

She is survived by her daughter Kelly Sheppard Shatat and beloved granddog, Mr. Monogram “Gram” of Raleigh, NC; and many cherished relatives and friends. Doris graduated from Rockingham High School in 1966 and retired from a career in property management to care for her dear mother, Pauline.

In recent years, she enjoyed being brand ambassador and head cheerleader for her daughter, Kelly’s jewelry brand, Moon and Lola. A mighty force to be reckoned with, Doris loved fiercely and her “big” personality made a lasting impression on all those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.
 
Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 11:00-12:30 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham. A  graveside service will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
