Diana Parker Horton

Diana Parker Horton, 61, of Hamlet passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Vidant Hospital in Greenville, NC. She was born May 27, 1960 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Harold Parker and Verline Carpenter Worrell.

Diana was a CNA at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. Diana cared and loved deeply, and her compassion showed in everything that she did. She loved her family, her garden, and had a talent and passion for her crafts. Diana’s greatest joy in life was being a mother, and new grandmother and enjoyed spending time traveling to the beach with the love of her life, Mike.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 7, 2021 2:00 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Hamlet with Pastor Ronnie Wayne Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, SC.

Surviving, her husband of 30 years, Michael Horton; A daughter, Karrissa Diane Sutton and husband Allen Sutton; grandchildren, Willow Rose Sutton and Colton Chase Sutton; brothers, Harold Parker Jr., Terry Parker and Clinton Parker; sister Tammy Davis Lampley, much-loved niece Destiny Parker, and nephew and godson, Russell Parker. Preceded in death by her mother, Verline Worrell; father, Harold Parker Sr.; step-father Harold Hinson; and brother, Vernon Parker.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at her home.
