Deborah "Deb" Bridges Canfield, 69, of Hamlet passed away Thursday, June 28th at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. She was born December 4, 1948 in Wake County, daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Pittman Bridges.
Deb was a graduate of Hamlet High School, class of 1966. She earned a Bachelors degree from Gardner Webb University and worked for many years as a Substance Abuse Counselor with a number of agencies and the Morrison Correctional Facility. She had many friends at the Baptist church in Hamlet. Deb loved to help people. She enjoyed making phone calls to check on folks, and sending cards to those that needed support to show she cared about them. Deb loved her family and stayed close with all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She loved to cook. Deb was so much fun, and had an infectious laugh.
A service to celebrate Deb’s life was conducted 11:00 am Saturday, June 30th at First Baptist Church in Hamlet with Dr. Allison Farrah officiating.
Deb is survived by a sister, Diane Weaver (Griffin Driggers) of McColl, SC; a brother, Robert Bridges, Jr., of Charlotte; and a nephew, Kyle Weaver.
