Mr. Robert Dean Grooms, 58, of Ellerbe passed away Monday, Jun 19, 2017 at his home. He was born June 3, 1959, son of Virginia Grooms and the late LeRoy Grooms.

Mr. Grooms attended Roberdel United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Grooms Seamless Gutter and Grooms Vinyl Siding. He loved car shows and classic cars, especially his 1966 Ford Fairlane. He coached little league baseball in earlier years.

Services were conducted 3:00 pm Friday, June 23rd at Roberdel United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Carpenter and Rev. Charlie Tyler officiating. Interment followed in Ellerbe Cemetery.

 Visitation was Thursday evening from 5 to 9 pm at Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home.

Mr. Grooms is survived by his wife, Kimberly Marks Grooms; children, Robert Dean Grooms Jr., and fiancé Danielle Richie of Hertford, Jackson Hayden Grooms , and Battle Max Grooms, both of Ellerbe; grandson, Easton Hawke Grooms; siblings, Ricky Grooms and wife Shirley, Ronald Grooms, Donald Grooms, Bo Grooms and wife Jennifer, Ken Grooms, and wife Tonya, Bobby Grooms, and Michelle Webb and husband James; extended family, Christian Marks, Sissi Liles, Nany Marks, Hanna Marks-Grooms, and Hanna Moss; and friend of fifty five years, Donald Parker. He was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Christopher Grooms, and father in law, Curtis Marks, Jr.
