Cherri Wilson Adamson, 51, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 31 in Richmond County Hospice Haven after a 2 1/2 year stay in Chapel Hill Medical Center.
She was born on May 9, 1971 in Richmond County which became her life-long home. Cherri became a quadriplegic resulting from an accident in February 2020. She was in awe of the prayers and support by the people of Richmond County as well as others around the world. Cherri was a 1989 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and is known by many for her years of working at BB&T Rockingham.
She was preceded in death by loved ones, Vickie Wilson Butler , Randy Howell, and Pat Wright Pusser and is survived by parents Bobby Wilson (Cecilia) and Glenda Sherrill (Robert) both of Rockingham, daughter Ashleigh Adamson of Fayetteville, half-sister Hayley Wilson of Wilmington and step-sister Mandy Sherrill Chuntz (Todd) of Hendersonville, step-brothers Judson and Bruce Brown of Rockingham, and Paul Brown (Karen) of Laurel Springs, aunts Diane Ingram of Hamlet and Robin Wilson Prisk (Danny) of Rockingham, uncle Rick Moore ( Kathy) of Waterford, NY., former husband J.J. Adamson of Cordova, grandparents Richard and Jean Howell Moore of Hamlet and Bobby and Grace Hardin Wilson of Rockingham.
A Celebration of life will be held at East Rockingham United Church on Monday, August 8 at 3pm. Visitation will take place at 1:30pm before the service. Pastor Michael Griffin will officiate. The family will receive family and friends at the home of Richard and Jean Moore, 205 Hyland Avenue, Hamlet or the home of Bobby and Cecilia Wilson at 833 Sandhills Rd., Rockingham.
