Carl T. English,73, of Rockingham passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born May 10, 1948 in Marlboro County, South Carolina a son of the late Carl and Mary Haire English.
Mr. English served in the US Army in 1968 and retired from Amtrak. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Mr. English enjoyed his tractors, watching old westerns, his white 1987 Chevrolet truck, and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Pauline Quick and Geneva Steen and a brother LeRoy English.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Wallace SC with Rev. Charles Cox and Rev. Jerry Wayne Shaw officiating with military honors. Visitation will be held at Watson-King funeral home from 5:00-7:00 p.m on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
Surviving, His wife of 52 years, Marjorie L. English of Rockingham; Children, Kathy Simmons (Scott), Jeff English, and Marsha English; Grandchildren, Dylan English (Maria), Kayla Carroll (Tyler), Jordan Carroll (Kaitlyn), Kimberly Shaw (Andrew) , Payton English, and Gracie Shaw; Great grandchild Braeden English; Sisters Faye Quick (Roy), Carlene Smith and Ruthie Howington; Numerous nieces and nephews.
