Betty Shoe

Betty Louise Shoe,72, of Rockingham was greeted into Heaven by her late husband, Bobby Shoe on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven. She was born February 3, 1950 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Edward and Rachel Cox Sweatt.

Betty retired from Richmond Co. Sheriff Department and was a member of Jefferson Park Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and Christian. Betty was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and church.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Park Church with Pastor Chris Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, SC.

She is survived by her five children, who made up the entirety of her world, Betty Levon Devanno(Tony) of FL, Bobbie Jo Millen(Jeff) of Rockingham, Robert Shoe, Jr.(Kelly) of Rockingham, Rachel Knight(Bo) of Rockingham and Patsy Stanley(Kip) of Hamlet. Besides her children, Betty is survived by her 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; her siblings: Phil Sweatt, Tim Sweatt, Tony Sweatt, Sharon Martof and Peggy Meggs; many nieces and nephews, cousins; and many friends, along with her cat Whiskers.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet and at other times at her home 136 Pine Crest Trail Rockingham, NC 28379.
