Mr. Archie Benton “A.B.” Maner, Jr., 75, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Hospice Haven. He was born November 1, 1942 in Richmond County, son of the late Archie and Lillian Blue Maner.
   
Mr. Maner was a member of New Hope Methodist Church and served on a number of committees. He was retired from CSX, where he was a Engineer. Mr. Maner enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing, the beach, working in his yard, grilling and cooking. Mr. Maner was a “Mr. Fix-It”, could fix anything and always wanted/willing to help anybody. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

The family will have visitation at 1:00 pm and a service at 2:30 pm Tuesday, January 9th in the chapel of Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Lou Perez officiating. Interment will follow at Eastside cemetery.

Mr. Maner is survived by his wife, Lynne ; children, Susie (Charles) Hill of Belmont, Archie Maner, III of Charlotte, Daniel Maner of Belmont, and Laura Maner of Mt. Holly; grandchildren, Megan Hill, Rebecca Hill, and Brooke Maner; and nieces, Sherry Scott and Renee Soule. He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Maner McKeithan.
