Mr. Willie “Buddy” Yates,  82,  passed away Saturday,  January 27,  2018 at Kingswood Nursing Center.  He was born  March  11,  1935 in Richmond County,  son of the late Albert and Marie Ewing Yates.
 
Mr. Yates was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church.  He was retired from J. P. Stevens with forty seven years of service in Maintenance.  
 
Services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday,  January 30th at Glenwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Joel Perry and Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating and interment following at Richmond Memorial Park.  The family will have visitation Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Watson – King Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home.  
 
Mr. Yates is survived by his wife, Faye Brigman Yates;  sons,  Charles (Teresa) Yates and Kenneth (Cendi) Yates, all of Rockingham; grandchildren, J. R. Bell, Tony (Angie) Dixon, Jennifer (Michael) Drumwright,   Alan (Elizabeth) Yates,  and Ashley (Justin) Jenkins; great grandchildren, Kenneth (Tori) Nunn,  Tyme Nunn, Erin Drumwright, Avery Johnson, Colt Jenkins, Chase Drumwright, Elijah Yates, Jackson Jenkins, and Rylen Yates; and a brother, Albert (Jerri) Yates of Rockingham.  Mr. Yates was preceded in death by siblings, Ann Chavis, Earl Yates, and Linda Mabe.
 
Memorials may be made to Glenwood United Methodist Church,  189 County Home Road,  Rockingham,  NC  28379 or Richmond County Hospice,  1119 US Hwy 1 N., Rockingham,  NC  28379.
