Robert Downie Sanford, 72, of Rockingham passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10th in the Chapel at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 1 hour prior to the service.
Born August 7, 1944 in Richmond County he was a son of the late Boyd and Mary Boone Sanford.
Mr. Sanford was a former police officer and worked for Sealed Air Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Ana G. Sanford, two daughters, Katherine Marie Sanford and Vanessa Ann Sanford, one son Robert Boyd Sanford, one brother, James Sanford, and one granddaughter, Leah Gayle Sanford all of Rockingham.
