Mr. Robert James Patterson, Jr.,   70,  of Hamlet went home to be with the Lord Sunday,  June 11, 2017 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.    He was born July 17,  1946 in Marlboro County, SC, son of the late Robert James Patterson, Sr., and Grace Young Patterson.

Mr.  Patterson was a member of Rockingham Wesleyan Church.  He had been a manager with Waste Management, at their locations in Hamlet, Fayetteville, and Lumberton.  He served with the South Carolina Highway Patrol for twenty years and worked at LOF Glass in Laurinburg for several years.  Mr. Patterson enjoyed fishing, and loved his grandchildren.

Services were conducted 3:00 pm Thursday, June 15th at Rockingham Wesleyan Church with Rev. David Rollins, Rev. Lloyd Grant, Jr., and  Rev. Andy Stewart officiating and interment following the service.  The family received friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Watson – King Funeral Home in Hamlet.

Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife of fifty two years, Barbara Ann Robinson Patterson; daughters, Kimberly P. Chavis and husband Rudy of Ghio, Kisa P. Stewart and husband Andy of Rockingham, and Patsy P. Robinson and husband Robin of Ghio; grandchildren, Jeffrey Moss, Jr., Samantha Stewart Parsons, Courtney Nicole Robinson, Brooke Robinson, R.J. Stubbs, Noah Adam Stubbs, and Cheyanne Dawkins; great grandchildren, Kensley Moss, Thomas Parsons, Bentley Stubbs, and Anna Reese Chance.  Mr. Patterson  was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Halford Anglin.
