Mrs. Mary Dixon Pratt,  88,  passed away Tuesday,  November  21,  2017 at Richmond Pines in Hamlet.  She was born  November  16,  1929, daughter of the late Howard and Mellie Barfield Dixon.

Mrs. Pratt was an active member of Church of God of Prophecy in Hamlet for more than seventy years.  She taught Sunday School, was active with the CPMA and  an ABM leader.  She was proud to be a BTI graduate with the church.  Mrs. Pratt was very missions minded, having raised the money to build a church in Haiti.   She worked for many years with Aleo and Klopman Mills.  Mrs. Pratt loved her family.

Services were conducted 2:00 pm Saturday,  November 25th at Church of God of Prophecy in Hamlet with Rev. Steve Crews officiating and interment followed in the church cemetery.   The family received friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the church and other times at 128 Gordon Lane, Hamlet.

Mrs. Pratt is survived by her daughters, Dianne (J.C.) Lewis and Helen Smith, both of Hamlet;  grandchildren, Bobby (Donna) Lewis of Hamlet,  Scott (Sandi) Lewis of Hamlet, James (Shelley) Denson of Rockingham, Brian (Katie) Smith of Indian Trail, Robert (Renae) Smith of Rockingham,  and Angela Denson of Hamlet;  great grandchildren, Aaron Lewis, Austin Lewis, Devin Rape, Hanna Smith, Bree Rape, Colson Smith, Cooper Smith, Savannah Gerald, Dylan Gerald, and Dalton Gerald; a great great grandchild, Sadie Lewis; and three brothers, Deward Dixon of Gambrills, MD, Gordon Dixon and Hayden Dixon, both of Hamlet.  Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her husbands, George W. Wilkes, Jr. in 1956 and Leroy Pratt in 1994; and siblings, H. B. Dixon, Larry Dixon, Alfred Dixon, and Beatrice Smith.
