Mr. Marion “John” Foster, 88 , of Rockingham passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his home. He was born January 28, 1929 in Onslow County, son of the late Rosella Fulcher Foster and Henry Robert Foster.

Mr. Foster was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockingham, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Ledbetter Bible Class. He was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps. Mr. Foster was a member of the Rockingham Masonic Lodge and was a Master Mason. He was an electrician and did TV repair. Mr. Foster was a gardener and enjoyed sharing what he grew.

Services will be conducted 12:00 pm Friday, December 1st at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Allen Bingham officiating and interment to follow at Eastside Cemetery with Masonic rites and military honors.

Mr. Foster is survived by his children, Charles Foster, Dean Foster, Valerie Canipe, Randy Foster, Laurie Foster, and Pamela Campbell; grandchildren, Kevin Millis, Brent Foster, Steven Foster, Pauline Soulet, Stephanie Marshall, Matthew Campbell, and Jessica Foster; great grandchildren, Joshua Foster, Chloe Foster, Kaitlyn Soulet, Mackenzie Soulet, Lilly Soulet, John (Jack) Soulet, Jr., Justin Soulet, Jamie Soulet, Ariabella Millis, Kayla Marshall, and Logan Marshall.

Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; a daughter, Susan; and a grand daughter, Julie.

The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. at the church and other times at the home of Brent Foster, 207 Shaw Road, Hamlet.
