Earl Wendell Key, 86, of Rockingham passed away November 8, 2017 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10th in the Chapel at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Russell Edwards and Rev. Deborah Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ellerbe.

Born August 26, 1931 in Ellerbe, he was a son of the late Marvin and Alice Lawrence Key, husband of the late Lydia Currie Key and was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Ann Key.
Earl was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, the former owner of Honda of Rockingham, an Engineer with the Rockingham Fire Department, and a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Earl Wendell Key, Jr. of Southern Pines, Jonathan Dale Key and wife Leslie Talbert Key of Wilmington, and Christopher Ray Key of Goldsboro, two granddaughters, Laura Key Cline and Elizabeth Key.

The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Watson-King Funeral Home.
