David Baxter Powell, 61, of Rockingham passed away Sunday August 6, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 10th at Southside Freewill Baptist Church where he was a member with Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
Born June 2, 1956 in Richmond County he was a son of the late Dewey and Alma Heaton Powell and was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Powell
David was a Mechanic for many textile mills and a member of Riverman Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife, Linda McSwain Powell of Rockingham, two daughters, Emily Powell of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kristy Floyd of Syracuse, NY, one son, David Powell of Rockingham, two sisters, Bonnie P. Leviner and Rebecca P. Metz, one brother, Danny Powell all of Rockingham, three grandchildren, Jesse Powell, Timmothy James Powell, Carrie Wanda Powell, and Cameron Barrington.
The family will be receiving friends starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
