Curtis Haywood Phifer

Curtis H. Phifer Jr., 69, passed away on March 5, 2024 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.  He was born in Maryland on August 27, 1954, the son of Ruth Mae Poole Phifer and the late Curtis H. Phifer Sr. 

Curtis enjoyed many activities such as woodworking, bowling, and golfing.  He retired from Plastek Industries and was previously employed at Rockingham Stainless Steel and Owen’s Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife Summer J. Fulp Phifer.

Curtis is survived by his son Curtis “Gene” Phifer and his wife Sheri of Raleigh, NC; son Eric Phifer, his wife Krista and their children Kinston, Eli, Kai, Emmie, and Koleman of Rockingham, NC; mother Ruth Phifer of Las Vegas, NV; brother David of Redding, CA; late sister Jeannie (deceased 2010) of Redding, CA;  brother Carl and his wife Mary of Las Vegas, NV; brother Bruce of San Diego, CA; brother Ray and his wife Lynette of San Diego, CA; and sister Amanda and her husband Arch of San Diego CA. 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 2pm at Richmond Co. Memorial Park. 

Memorials may be made to Richmond Co. Hospice, 1119 State Hwy. #1 N Rockingham, NC 28379.
