Billy Thomas Lassiter, 77, of Rockingham entered into his Eternal Life in Heaven on Monday, May 1st 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5th at Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Stewart and Rev. Alex Perakis officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born August 25, 1939 in Richmond County he was a son of the late Thomas Daniel and Annabel Gilliam Lassiter and was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy.
Billy was a US Airforce Veteran, the owner and operator of Lassiter’s Surplus, a member of Crestview Baptist Church, he loved life, loved people, and for many years he loved being Santa Claus.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane Lassiter of Rockingham,
one daughter, Lori L. Patrick (Buck), one son, Tommy Lassiter, three sisters, Margaret Peninger (Jim), Jean Lee (Carl), and Donna Hamilton (Jeff), four grandchildren, Tara L. King (Brian), Alexis Wise (Jason), Cassie Tyler (Cody) and Colby Patrick, and eight great grandchildren all of Rockingham.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Freedom Baptist Church and other times at the home of Lori Patrick, 131 Boon Dock Road in Rockingham.
