Mrs. Barbara Martin McCroskey,  77,  passed away Tuesday,  September 19,  2017 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.  She was born September 12,  1940 in Madison County, GA,  daughter of the late Vella Mae and Joseph Albert Martin.

Mrs. McCroskey was a faithful member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church since 1968 and was involved in the Acteens program and Vacation Bible School.  She was a Teachers Assistant at L. J. Bell Elementary for twenty years.  Mrs. McCroskey volunteered her time with the Richmond County Library, Our Daily Bread, Richmond County Hospice, and Donate Life.

Services will be conducted   12:00 pm Saturday,  September 23rd at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Pilarcyk officiating and interment following at Eastside Cemetery.  The family will have visitation one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.

Mrs. McCroskey is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Larry McCroskey;  children, Kim M. Hager and husband Michael of Fuquay Varina and Glenn McCroskey and wife Jennifer of Carolina Beach; grandchildren,  Sarah Hager, Matthew Hager, Loch McCroskey, and Krew McCroskey;  and siblings,  James Thomas Martin, Herbert Martin, and Hubert Martin.  Mrs. McCroskey was preceded in death by siblings, Frances  Simms,  Wilmer Martin, and Dorothy Mayhue.
